You have been a part of so much during your time at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. Which activity has meant the most to you, and why?

Being a part of the has had the most impact on my Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ experience. I met lifelong friends from all across the country and enjoyed representing Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ at swim meets. I knew that I wanted to compete in college, and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ felt like the perfect place to continue my love of swimming.

What is something you have accomplished at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ that you are really proud of?

I am really proud of my senior thesis, which I completed while working with Professor of Biology Dr. Engda Hagos. I researched the role of the tumor suppressor gene KLF4 in cell cycle regulation, specifically its role in the activation of p21. I worked during the fall 2024 semester on this project and put in countless lab hours into collecting data for my thesis. This was a very rewarding experience as I bonded with the other students in my research group and enjoyed presenting my poster at the end of the semester.

What are your plans following graduation?

This year I will be attending the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. I worked briefly at Ethicon (medical device manufacturer) in Athens at the start of 2025.

What is your favorite place on or off campus, and what makes it special?

I always enjoyed the Dana Arts Center. It is a unique-looking building and very fun to enjoy playing piano in or even hide-and-seek with friends. It has many different areas to explore, and I always felt at peace when I was in the building. I only had one class in this building, but I wish I could have taken more.
